Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Palo Alto is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. At Iki omakase, the chef created a menu which included seasonal ingredients that translated to a delicious and refined dining experience. This dinner was extra special because we were there to celebrate an intimate send off for the bride and groom (Nic & Joseph π₯³) before their scheduled wedding ceremony in Santa Barbara CA. Chef Li and the entire staff at Iki omakase did not disappoint. The entire dining experienceβ¦priceless

A truly unforgettable experience at IKI Omakase with Chef Li. From start to finish, the 20-course omakase was nothing short of extraordinary. Each course showcased an elevated and beautifully balanced flavor profileβevery bite felt intentional, refined, and absolutely delicious. You can genuinely taste the creativity and thoughtfulness behind each piece; it wasnβt just a meal, it was art. What made the evening even more special was the intimate setting. Being the only guests created such a rare and personalized experience, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in every moment. The service was impeccableβattentive, warm, and perfectly paced. Chef Li and our wonderful maitre dβ took the time to explain every course in detail, which made the experience even more meaningful. His passion and craftsmanship truly shine through in every dish. What a way to celebrate our anniversary! It made the entire evening feel even more special and memorable. If youβre looking for an exceptional omakase experience that goes beyond expectations, IKI is a must. Easily a 5-star dining experienceβ We would return in a heartbeat!

Iki Omakase was an amazing experience, and one of the best weβve had in the Bay Area. Chef Lee puts a lot of care and attention to detail in the 20 course menu. He ships his fish weekly, serves wet and dry age fish to perfection, and compliments with unique appetizers. One of the few omakase spots we would return to. Very highly recommend!

Minimalistic pleasant interior and beautiful tableware, especially the glassware. Not too many appetizers, which is - it lets you truly enjoy the variety of nigiri. Open for brunch and lunch - a perfect spot to come at midday for sushi and delicious green tea. My absolute favorites are fatty tuna, bluefin tuna with caviar. The snow crab soup with yuzu is also delicious, with a beautiful balance of sweet and tangy flavors.

From the moment we walked into Iki Omakase in Palo Alto, it was clear this was going to be a special meal. The place is cozy and beautifully put together with just 8 seats. Chef Li is amazing at what he does and adds a fun touch with his great sense of humor and clear love for sushi. Every dish shows off his skill and creativity, giving a fresh take on classic sushi that's both exciting and really tasty. My favorite was the Toro with Caviar and crispy seaweed - an awesome mix of flavors and textures. The drinks menu is impressive, with a great variety of beers, non-alcoholic drinks, special sakes, and flavored sakes. Sunny, the manager, very knowledgeable and patiently helped us pick from the different sakes, which went perfectly with our food. We tried four kinds, from sweet to dry, and each one added something special to our meal. Even though the place just opened and the staff are still getting the hang of things, the service is amazing. They really make sure you feel taken care of and important, paying attention to what you need before you even ask. At $175 per person, Iki Omakase is an amazing deal for this kind of quality in the Bay Area, where you might pay over $250 els
